I watched the Simon Sinek TED Talk about great leaders inspiring action this Monday - On MLK Day and found it very coincidental that he mentioned Martin Luther King and his “Why” and “Beliefs”.

MLK made such a difference because he fought very hard for what he believed in and did a great job sharing his conviction. It’s a great message both personally and professionally - Know and live your WHY, your BELIEFS and you PURPOSE.

Winning the Day
I’ve been very inspired to grow Colorado Moving Experts this year and want to share where I’m finding some great accountability. Andy Frisella’s “The MFCEO project” podcast lives by completing a daily power list. This involves completing five critical tasks per day. When you complete all five tasks that day, you win the day. When you win more days than you lose, you win the week. And when you win more weeks than you lose, you win the month. These tasks are things that are critical to getting you closer to your goal. The concept is to move forward a little bit every single day and if you commit to this for one year, he guarantees you will be FIVE YEARS ahead of your competition.

FYI - I’ve been doing this for a week now. Last week was tough, but it was also very productive. I know it takes a month to form a habit and that it takes 60-90 days to break bad habits, but I'm already noticing a difference and it feels great!
<![CDATA[The CME Difference - Why Clients Love Us]]>Thu, 11 Jan 2018 07:00:00 GMThttp://coloradomovingexperts.com/enews-blog/the-cme-difference-why-clients-love-usPicture
I get asked quite a bit why someone should hire me over another moving company. THIS IS WHY - Responsibility, pride and advocacy. When I meet with a potential client my first goal is to fully understand the client’s needs, expectations and exactly what it will take for a successful move. From there I provide an accurate estimate of the total cost and labor required for the project. Then we go to work decluttering, packing and preparing for move day. We manage and assist the move crew, transfer the perishables, and make the beds. We come back the next day to help unpack and get organized. We even hang artwork at our clients' new homes. BUT WHAT TRULY SETS US APART is that I take full responsibility for my moves. My clients don’t have to worry whether or not any part of the project will get completed; I make sure everything is taken care of.

<![CDATA[8 Rules to Kicking A$$]]>Wed, 14 Jun 2017 15:39:24 GMThttp://coloradomovingexperts.com/enews-blog/dont-let-your-dreams-go-unfulfilled
We’re half way through the year which means you still have six months to make 2017 great. If you’re needing a jolt of motivation, here ya go…

8 Rules to Kicking Ass in Life:
1 - See failure as a beginning, not an end.
2 - If you don’t go after it, you will never have it.
3 - Always do more than is expected of you.
4 - Assume nothing and question everything.
5 - Make peace with the past or you will pay for it.
6 - Stop thinking so much and start ACTING.
7 - Never compare yourself to others.
8 - Teach others what you know.
<![CDATA[May 2017 - Inspiration]]>Mon, 15 May 2017 06:00:00 GMThttp://coloradomovingexperts.com/enews-blog/may-2017-inspirationEverybody could use a little motivation sometimes, right? Mine typically comes from Instagram and Podcasts. While there’s not a lack of options to choose from and test out, there’s one that I find constantly great.
Lewis Howe’s School of Greatness Podcast is hands down my favorite. The description from itunes is: “The goal of the School of Greatness is to share inspiring stories from the most brilliant business minds, world class athletes and influential celebrities on the planet; to help you find out what makes great people great.”
Check it out; you won’t be disappointed.

Instagram is my other go-to source of inspiration. A few really great ones are: Before 5AMThe Good Quote and Foundr. Some of my other personal favorites are: All abandonedMy House IdeaBlack Jaguar White Tiger and Jeremy Jauncey. Check them out; the links are in each name.

<![CDATA[Hacking Packing]]>Wed, 15 Mar 2017 06:00:00 GMThttp://coloradomovingexperts.com/enews-blog/hacking-packingOne of the struggles with packing is acquiring the boxes for all your belongings. Let us deliver packing materials to you.
At Colorado Moving Experts our goal is to make moving easy. Even if you plan to do the packing, we’ll still deliver everything you need.
Unless you move often, it’s not common knowledge knowing how many and what size boxes are needed. Then there’s the question of where to find all the needed packing materials. And once you jump those hurdles, you still have to battle with fitting all the boxes in your car.
We know that’s not fun and we have a solution. Call anytime and Colorado Moving Experts will deliver the appropriate materials right to your door. 303.877.0869]]>
<![CDATA[Our Top Regrets]]>Wed, 15 Feb 2017 07:00:00 GMThttp://coloradomovingexperts.com/enews-blog/our-top-regrets
I recently stumbled upon a very interesting article about the top regrets of people that were dying. The number one regret is that they wish they would have lived a life true to themselves and would have pursued more of their dreams. We’re two and a half months into 2017; what dreams will you turn into reality this year? Colorado Moving Experts wants to help by freeing up your time. Spend your vacation having fun rather than stressing about your home.
FYI - two additional top five regrets are working too hard and not spending enough time with friends.
We are available to help organize, declutter, pack, unpack, procure moving estimates and supervise the crews on move day.
If you are interested to read the full article on the top regrets of the dying, here is the link: Regrets of the Dying
<![CDATA[November...]]>Fri, 04 Nov 2016 06:00:00 GMThttp://coloradomovingexperts.com/enews-blog/novemberDeath, Divorce, Moving & Holiday Decor Picture
It’s often quoted that moving is life’s third most stressful event. Followed by death and divorce. Considering everything life throws our way that’s a very strong statement. So, why not minimize that stress? Let Colorado Moving Experts create a moving plan for your next move. Since I’ve been moving clients for 6 years, it’s easy to identify the red flags on each move. A very common stressor comes from the emotional, mental and physical overload from all of the activities associated with buying and/or selling a home. Especially when home renovations are in the picture. It’s simply too much for one or two people to handle. As for the other top two, death and divorce - I can’t be of much help. Thanks for subscribing. Your business and referrals are greatly appreciated.

Packing Hacks
When packing boxes, make sure to fill voids with newsprint. Movers stack boxes; when there are open cavities in boxes they crush and fold in easily. Try not to think about the poor trees and make newsprint your new bestie. And remember Colorado Moving Experts love packing. We’re happy to take the reins from you.

Decorating for the Holidays???
I can help get Holiday decor from storage and/or do some light redecorating to make your home more festive. My normal rate is $75 per hour, but I’ll be offering discounts…because why not..it’s that time of year. Call or email to carve out some time. cody@comovingexperts.com or 303.877.0869

<![CDATA[October...]]>Thu, 06 Oct 2016 06:00:00 GMThttp://coloradomovingexperts.com/enews-blog/octoberClone yourself and Survive Moving Day PictureMove Day Survival Kit
“Moving is the best!” said no one ever. Yes, everyone hates moving. I want to help make your next move a little better. This is our moving day survival kit that all clients get. For FREE. I’ve moved somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 clients over the past six years; the things you see here are top items needed on move day...other than an army of help and a moving truck or two. * A safe for your valuables * Tape, sharpie and labels for those last few boxes that need packing * Soap, paper towels and toilet paper to get you and your movers through lunch * Bandaids - because someone will inevitably cut their finger * Door stop for that one door that keeps closing * Garbage bags for the last bit of trash * Ziplocs for disassembled furniture hardware * One e-crate for the important, “Pack this stuff last and move in car!” stuff. Moving may not be the best, but it doesn’t have to be the worst.
Let Colorado Moving Experts help.

Packing Hacks
Want to know how long it will take to pack your home?? Use this math: Square footage x 1.5% = Hours. Use 2-3% if you’re described as a word that rhymes with boarder. :-) Note - That’s uninterrupted, hard core packing. If that sounds too daunting, call 303.877.0869. We love packing.

Clone Yourself
One of the toughest things about moving day is how many tasks there are to get accomplished. A clone or two would help, right? We’re happy to be that clone. Besides packing, we love helping clients with every imaginable task that moving entails. Managing the move crew, unpacking, putting clean sheets on the beds, transferring the contents of the refrigerators between homes, etc...you name it and we’re happy to do it.

<![CDATA[September 13th, 2016]]>Tue, 13 Sep 2016 06:00:00 GMThttp://coloradomovingexperts.com/enews-blog/september-13th-2016Moving Concierge vs. Mover
"What exactly is a moving concierge?" and "How is your business different than a typical moving company?”

As a moving concierge, I work for my clients and their best interest.; movers work for a moving company. And secondly, we provide a wider range of services than most moving companies. A typical moving company's services don't extend beyond packing and moving. At Colorado Moving Experts, we offer quite a bit more. In addition to packing and moving, we supervise the move crews, unpack, put clean sheets on the beds and even transfer our clients' utilities. To ensure we provide a stress and chaos free move, step one is to meet each client and create a custom plan tailored to what our clients' specific needs are. We love moving and look forward to helping with your next move.

Moving Tip:
Measure before you move. You may have big plans to put your old(ish) sofa in the basement of your new home or your queen size bed in the upstairs loft. Unfortunately, not all homes were designed to accommodate moving in large furniture. Compare measurements between the two before hand so that you aren’t left disappointed on moving day.
